This is not a demo: it's a full-featured general ledger accounting program.
When it first came in, we showed it to our controller (the guy who does the
inhouse accounting for our company), and he thought it was an excellent package.
Hence, we have arranged to provide it to our readers.

SBAS is a shareware program, meaning that a small contribution is normally
requested of satisfied users. However, we have arranged with Millrose to make
this fee optional for BIG BLUE DISK readers; you have no obligation to pay
anything to anybody. Still, if you make regular use of the program, you'll
probably find it in your interests to pay the authors in order to receive
technical support, and obtain revised versions when they are released.

A more-advanced, non-shareware version is also available from the authors, as
described in the documentation.

A full manual is on disk for you to print out. The following instructions
will help you to copy the program to your own disk, and print out its
documentation.

         1.  Place a formatted disk in drive b; This disk in drive a;
Copy GL.EXE B:/V (or C:\subdir if you are using
Copy *.dbf b:/v a hard disk)
                copy *.ntx b:/v
                copy *.mem b:/v
This will make a work copy of the program disk.
Place this original disk in a safe place and use
only the work copy in your operations.

         2. To print the documentation:
                A> Copy GL.DOC PRN or (Copy Gl.Doc lpt1)
This will print approximately eight pages of
                    documentation.
                A> copy MASTER.DOC PRN (or Copy Master.Doc lpt1)
This will print a sample chart of accounts.
                    Two pages.

         3. To preview the documentation:
                 A> List gl.doc or List master.doc

         4. To initiate the program A>GL

A sample chart of accounts is included on this disk -- Sav.DBF

If you wish to use this sample chart of accounts:
        a. rename master.dbf to master.sav
        b. rename sav.dbf to master.dbf
        c. Start the program - use option 7 to re-index the files

SMALL BUSINESS ACCOUNTING SYSTEM Ver. 2.0 was released July 1987. There
have been updates to this program in December 1987, and March 1988. This
version provides for handling of multiple sets of books ---- limited only
by your storage capacity. Further, on the Cash Receipts, Cash
Disbursements, and Journal Entry input it provides for default (previous
entry) entry of 'REF', 'DATE', 'DESCRIPTION' and 'COMMENT'. This default
provision greatly speeds the entry process. Further, the Income
statement will allow for a sub-total within the Income or Expense
accounts. Including sub-totals on Cost of Goods Sold, and Gross Profit
on Sales. Version 2.0-+ is not a Shareware Product. Only Ver. 1.3+ is a
Shareware Product. See order form at end of GL Documentation.

The Authors of User Supported Software
request that you send a $20.00 registration fee if you
have found the software useful and satisfactory. The
registration fee enables the author to provide the
software support for the product, and to continue to
improve and expand the products and services under this
low cost method of software distribution. Registered
users will receive 60 days of free customer service plus
the latest version of this Shareware Program.

                           (Registration is optional.)
