*180
You and Ursa Minor climb Star Gazer's
Knoll. The air up here is [, and
there ] all over the top of the hill.
You look around, but don't find
anything of interest.
*181
"Before we leave Star Gazer's Knoll,
>, do you want to look at the
constellations that are in the sky?"
Ursa Minor asks.
*182
"OK!" Ursa Minor says. "Back to Star
Town!"
*183
You and Ursa Minor rush to the top of
Star Gazer's Knoll. The air up here
is [, and there ] all over the top of
the hill.

{ } beaming at you. Ursa Minor takes
your hand.
*184
You and Ursa Minor lead < to the
top-most part of Star Gazer's Knoll.
"Well," you say to {, "it's time to
go home!"

Ursa Minor waves her paw, and
suddenly the ground begins to shake.
There is a flash in the sky!
*185
You blink. When you open your eyes, {
} gone. In place of the
constellation is the +. You look
into the sky.
*187
Ursa Minor jumps into your arms.
"Hooray!" she shouts.

"# constellations to go!"
*188
You and Ursa Minor tilt your heads
back and look into the sky. The
night sky is very clear and the stars
are bright pinpoints in the sky.
*190
Well, we've still got some work to
do," you say to Ursa Minor. "Let's
get back to Star Town!"

Ursa purrs back gently, "I've got
faith in you!"
*191
"Let's return this + to its proper
place, and then find another
constellation to return to the sky!"
she says excitedly.

"Back to Star Town!" you shout.
*192
When you bring your attention back to
Earth, you notice that a small group
of people has gathered around you.

"Hey!" one of the men in the group
says, "There's our +! We've been
looking for that all night! Thanks,
>, for finding it!"
*193
The group leaves with the +. You
and Ursa turn to one another.
*194
"Well, we've done it, Chief!" Ursa
Minor says excitedly. "We've
returned all the constellations to
the sky and all the missing parts of
Star Town to their proper places!"

"Almost all," you say to your
constellation friend. Ursa Minor
blushes slightly, and then steps up
to the highest point on Star Gazer's
Knoll.
*195
"I guess this is good-bye," you say.
Ursa nods her head slowly.

The ground begins to shake and shake
and then suddenly--
*196
The ground stops shaking. Ursa is
still there. You rush up to her.
"What's the matter!" you say.
*197
"I almost forgot," Ursa says with a
smile, "for returning all of us
safely to the sky, we have a gift for
you: your very own constellation!"
*198
Ursa points to the sky, and you look
up.

"Just connect any of the stars in the
sky you want. Create any shape or
form. And then name it! It will be
yours always...."
*200
You run over and hug Ursa Minor.
"Thank you, Ursa!" you say.

"No, thank YOU," she responds. And
then with a friendly growl, she steps
back up to the top of Star Gazer's
Knoll. The ground begins to shake
madly again, and there is a bright
flash in the sky. You have to cover
your eyes.
*202
When you open your eyes, Ursa is
gone, but on the ground next to you
is the missing Sundial! You smile,
and then sit down on the ground,
leaning back against the Sundial.
You look into the starry sky. All
the familiar constellations are back
in their proper places.

And there is your constellation!
*204
You look into the northernmost part
of the sky, and find the stars that
make up Ursa Minor, the Little Bear.
"Good-bye, Ursa," you say. "Until we
meet again...."
*207
"There are five real constellations
in every Constellation Odyssey," Ursa
says. "Three of them are polar
constellations, which means that they
can be seen in the night sky year-
round."
*208
"Cepheus, Draco, and I are polar
constellations," Ursa continues.
"The two other constellations you
will find in each Constellation
Odyssey change depending on the time
of year that you play the game.
These are seasonal constellations;
that means you can see them only
during certain times of the year. $
and & are both | constellations."
*210
"You can get more information on any
of the polar or seasonal
constellations when you visit Star
Gazer's Knoll."
*212
"There are five fake constellations
in every Constellation Odyssey," Ursa
explains. "These constellations have
swapped places with my friends, the
real constellations that should be
in the sky. The fake constellations
are all objects from Star Town. For
example, the Sundial is a fake
constellation and it is found at Star
Gazer's Knoll."
*213
"Each fake constellation in the sky,"
Ursa continues, "gives a clue to the
location of the real constellation
that it replaced. For example, if we
saw the Fireman's Hat in the sky, we
could conclude that the constellation
that it replaced is in the Fire House
in Star Town."
*214
"We have returned @ of five
constellations to the sky," Ursa says
proudly. "That means we have # still
to return."

"Let's go back to Star Town!" you
say.
*215
Ursa says, "From Star Gazer's Knoll
(a knoll is a small hill), you can
see all the constellations in the
night sky. We should return to Star
Gazer's Knoll whenever we want to
look at the sky."
*216
"The goal of Constellation Odyssey,"
Ursa explains, "is to travel through
Star Town, find each lost
constellation, and bring it back to
Star Gazer's Knoll, where I can put
it back into the sky. The lost |
constellations in Constellation
Oddyssey are $, &, Cepheus, Draco
and me."
*217
"When we return a constellation back
to the sky, we must also return the
fake constellation that has taken its
place (either the +1, +2, +3, +4, or
the Sundial) back to its proper place
in Star Town."
*219

Constellation Odyssey later from the
point in the game that you just left,

The constellation Ursa Minor (UR-sa
MI-nor) is the Little Bear. One of
the stars in Ursa Minor is Polaris,
the pole star. Whenever you look at
the pole star you are looking North.
Ursa Minor is the child of the
constellation Ursa Major (the Big
Bear) and is visible year-round.
*225
The constellation Orion (OR-i-ohn) is
a mighty hunter, carrying a club in
one hand, a shield in the other, and
a sword in his belt. The
constellation Orion is the best known
because it contains more bright stars
than any other constellation.
*226
The constellation Draco (DRA-coh) is
a fire-breathing dragon! Because of
its place in the sky, Draco's head
never disappears below the horizon,
and it is visible year-round.
*227
The constellation Cepheus (SEE-fee-
us) is the King of Ethiopia. In the
sky, he is next to his wife,
Cassiopeia. Cepheus is a polar
constellation, which means he is
visible year-round.
*228
The constellation Cygnus (SIG-nus) is
a swan, the pet of a woman named
Leda. Cygnus is really more than
just a swan, however; Cygnus is
actually the god Zeus in disguise!
*229
The constellation Pegasus (PEG-ah-
sus) is a flying horse. One of the
stars that makes up the Pegasus
constellatin is even called the
Saddle! Pegasus is famous in
mythology for creating a fountain by
striking the ground with his mighty
hooves.
*230
The constellation Delphinus (DEL-fee-
nus) is a dolphin, the pet of Neptune
(god of the sea). Delphinus is not
the only ocean creature in the sky,
however. Right next to the dolphin
is the constellation Equleus (the
Sea-Horse)!
*231
The constellation Crater (CRAY-ter)
is the Cup of Apollo. Apollo is the
god of healing and music. It is a
small constellation in the southern
sky, just above the constellation
Hydra. Some people say the cup is
actually resting on the serpent
Hydra's back!
*232
The constellation Hydra (HI-dra) is a
powerful, many-headed sea Serpent.
Hydra is the longest of all the
constellations, extending through
almost all of the sky. The
constellation is known for protecting
Crater (the Cup of Apollo) from the
constellation Corvus (the Crow).
*233
The constellation Pleiades (PLEE-eh-
deez) consists of seven stars, each
star representing a daughter of
Atlas. One of the stars is very dim,
and this sister is thought to be
hiding. The sisters are thought to
be very happy together. In fact,
they are the tightest cluster of
stars in any constellation.
*234
The constellation Hercules (HER-cue-
leez) is the Mighty Laborer. He is
known for his fabulous strength.
Hercules is a Northern constellation
between Lyra (the harp) and Corona
Borealis (the Northern Crown).
