As soon as you enter the Observatory,
the school children break into
applause. "You've returned the
astronomer!" someone shouts. "We
don't have to learn the backward
constellations from < anymore!"
*164
You lead < out of the Observatory.
"Let's take this constellation back
to Star Gazer's Knoll!" you say.

">," Ursa Minor says to you with a
soft purr, "you've got a gold star in
my book!"
*165
From the rear podium of the
Observatory, < } lecturing a visiting
group of school children about
"conterrations," the opposite of
constellations. Conterrations are
clusters of land masses that the
constellations see when they look
down at night.
*500
"My favorite conterration," Orion, the
Hunter, says, "is Sammy, the Cow,
formed by the 48 continental United
States."

The school children begin to giggle
and moo.
*501
"Our favorite conterration," one of
the seven sisters says, "is Woofers,
the Sleeping Dog, formed by the
mainland provinces of Canada. It's
the only thing we agree on!"

The school children howl at the Seven
Sisters' silliness.
*502
The Cup traces his favorite
conterration in the air. It's
Strykote, the Baseball Bat, formed by
the states surrounding the Adriatic
Sea.

The school children giggle and then
shout, "We want to go home!"
*503
"My favorite conterration," Hydra
says, "is Ker-Plunk, the Friendly
Tortoise, formed by the two halves of
New Guinea.

The school children can barely stifle
their laughter.
*504
"This conterration is my all-time
favorite," Cygnus says. "It's Erp,
the Big-Beaked Penguin, formed by the
Yucatan Peninsula down through Costa
Rica."

The school children begin walking
around the Observatory, flapping
their arms, acting like penguins.

*505
Hercules says, "My favorite
conterration is Eyepop, the Muscular
Arm, formed by the coast of the
Kamchatka Peninsula."

The school children show off their
muscles while the teacher tries to
keep them under control.
*506
"My favorite conterration," the ever-
playful Delphinus says, "is Puck, the
Hockey Stick, formed by the state of
California."

"Yay!" the students shout. "Hockey
instead of school!"
*507
"My favorite conterration," Pegasus
says, "is Plether, the Saddle, formed
by the Canadian province of Quebec."

"Oh my! Oh my!" the teacher moans as
most of her students break into
uproarious laughter.
*508
"My favorite conterration," Draco
says, "is Hotstoff, the Flame, formed
by the Baffin Islands."

The school children are amazed at the
dragon, who shoots flame out of his
mouth with every breath!
*509
"My favorite conterration," Cepheus
says, "is Staph, the Scepter, formed
by the coastline and borders of
Portugal."

The school children snicker.
*167
"This won't do!" you say to Ursa
Minor. "Let's get this constellation
out of here!" You reach out to take
{, but the crowd stops you.

"You're not taking {! At least not
until you find the real Professor of
astronomy!" the teacher says.
*169
"We better bring them their
astronomer," you say.

"Well, >," Ursa Minor says, "let's
search Star Town!"
*170
As soon as you enter the Observatory
for the second time, you hear
children giggling. "We call them
conterrations--land constellations,"
the teacher says. "We look up and
see groups of stars at night, but
constellations look down and see
clusters of land!"

"We'd better find the astronomer
before this teacher suggests a field
trip to the sky!" Ursa Minor says.
*171
"Blue Rigel!!!" Ursa Minor exclaims
as you enter the Observatory for the
third time. "{ } still lecturing.
Let's find that astronomer before we
start seeing stars!"
*172
You and Ursa Minor enter the
Observatory. The Professor of
astronomy is lecturing about the
Little Dipper.

"Hey! He's talking about me!" Ursa
Minor says proudly.

"This is the way an Observatory
should be run," you say.
*173
In the far corner of the Observatory
you notice /. Do you need /?
*174
You already have the \ with you. You
must take care of what you have
before you pick up anything new.
*550
"Excuse me, gentlemen," you say to
the Quartet. "If you follow me, I
can return you to your Barber Shop."

"Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!"
they all shout in harmony. They
squeeze into your wagon and let you
pull them out of the Observatory.
*551
"Ah ha!" you say to Ursa. "Just what
we've been looking for!" You and Ursa
tuck the truck into your wagon and
pull it out of the Observatory.
*552
You put the reel of film into your
wagon and wrap your arm around Ursa.
"Now, I've got stars on both sides of
me!" you say to Ursa as you leave the
Observatory.
*553
"Excuse me, sir," you say to the
waiter. "You look rather lost. If
you follow me, I can return you to
your Restaurant."

The waiter pulls out his book of
checks and hops into your wagon.
*554
With the help of your little bear
friend, you heave the cage into your
wagon and drag the wagon out of the
Observatory.
*555
"Excuse me, madam" you say to the
woman dressed in a business suit and
flight goggles. "If you follow me, I
can take you back to the Airport."

The controller smiles and says "Thank
you! You know, I can't even remember
what I'm doing here!" She steps into
your wagon and sits down.
*556
"Excuse me, sir," you say to the
librarian whose nose is deep inside a
large book. "You look rather out of
place here. If you follow me, I can
return you to the Grammmar School."

The librarian happily settles into
your wagon and opens a book. He
reads while you pull him out of the
Observatory.
*557
"Excuse me, Madam," you say to the
doctor. "If you follow me, I can
return you to all your patients at
the Hospital."

The doctor pulls her white coat about
her shoulders and sits down in your
wagon.
*176
You and Ursa Minor are in a
futuristic Observatory. Computers
line the walls. A group of
schoolchildren is gathered near the
back of the Observatory.
*177
You and Ursa Minor walk back into the
futuristic Observatory.
*178
"Nothing much here," you say to Ursa.
"Let's get out of here and continue
searching Star Town."
*179
You drop off the Telescope. "Let's
go rescue another constellation," you
say to Ursa, and quickly leave the
Observatory.
