     Look closely at the next insect that comes along - whether it's a

beetle, an ant, or a fly.  Its six legs and its sectioned body make it

different from all other creatures. For example, there are three pairs of

legs in an adult insect.  Take another look at an insect.  You'll see

that its body has three sections.  The front part is the head with its

two feelers.  Some insects can smell and hear with them.  The middle

part of the body is where the six legs are attached.  The largest part

     Nearly all insects can fly at some time in their lives.  They are
