You don't like having to use the spear,
so you throw it half-heartedly. Even so,
it flies straight and true. It hits the
Minotaur in his leg. He is angrier than
ever, but he cannot follow you now.
*701
You have never played a lyre before, but
somehow you manage to play a sweet,
lilting song. The Minotaur stops,
listens, and starts to doze. You can
sneak out of the room.
*703
You put on the winged sandals and feel
yourself rising above the Minotaur's
ugly head. You can't quite fly over the
wall of the maze, but you are out of the
Minotaur's reach. You can fly out of the
room in whichever direction you wish.
*704
You bring out the tiny golden heart. As
soon as the Minotaur sees it, he stops
chasing you. A silly look comes into his
eyes. When he starts to sing "I Love You
Truly," you leave the room.
*705
You release the owl. It flies around
the Minotaur's head, diving in front of
the Minotaur's eyes and flapping its
wings furiously. The Minotaur is
completely confused. You take the
opportunity to slip away.
*706
You throw the golden net of Hephaestus
over the raging Minotaur. At once the
Minotaur becomes quiet and still. The
Minotaur does not stir as you quietly
take the net and slip away.
*707
Not knowing what else to do, you bring
the pearl out of your pocket. You hold
it in your fist. Instantly, a huge wave
of water engulfs the Minotaur. You walk
away, completely dry, and you put the
pearl back in your pocket.
*708
The moment you enter the room, you hear
a bone-shaking roar. You look up to see
a huge, horrible beast rushing at you.
It has a human head and the body of a
bull. It has sharp horns and enormous
teeth--and it looks very hungry.
*709
"GRRRAAAAAH!" roars the Minotaur as it
rushes at you. The horrible creature
looks even hungrier than before.
*710
You don't have one. The Minotaur is so
close that you can see that his teeth
don't have a single filling.<
<
You must have something with you that
you can use!
*711
"GRRRGH!" roars the Minotaur when he
catches up with you. Suddenly you
realize that you needed to use one of
the gods and goddesses' magic objects.
But it is too late now.<
